The same should be true for sales professionals that feel they are no longer on top of their game.. They should make sure they haven’t gotten lazy or too casual, or taking short cuts, and are still strong in the basics, like making quality appointments, learning what their prospects are interested in, making sure they are prepared for each call, following up at every opportunity, and all the other necessary components for a good outcome. Don’t worry about all the new esoteric approaches to selling (some good, some not so good) until you ensure that you have gone back to all the critical timeless basics, and checked how you are doing there first.
